It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Lorna Borden, 63, on December 8th, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Born in Glace Bay, NS she was the daughter of the late Tom and Jane Borden.  

Lorna enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her children and grandchildren.  Lorna is survived by her daughter Angela (Calum) MacNeil-MacPhee, two sons Jeff (Virginia Morash) MacNeil and Adam (Cheryl Matheson) MacNeil and four granddaughters Mary, Ayla, Aubree and Kinsley, sisters and brothers Jane, Cathy, Greg (Elaine) and Marian (Peter) and many nieces and nephews.

Lorna was predeceased by her parents and her brother Paul. 

A fan of the arts, Lorna often attended music festivals and live entertainment. She always enjoyed spending time laughing and telling stories with friends and family in the kitchen and around the fire.  Her house was always known as a gathering spot during the holidays and special occasions.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 12th at 10:30 a.m. in Glace Bay at the TJ Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199) with a memorial services to follow at 11 a.m, with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christmas Daddies.
