My Earliest Recollections of Aunt Betty, in my 4th year, were of time on Robie Street... Amazing Breakfasts, almost martial in organization, including Oatmeal, Boiled Eggs, Bacon, Pancakes & Toast. You were on Deck at 7 AM or you didn't eat, but the provisions were fabulous.
She was a Champion Scrabble Player & Fantastic Mother, Aunt & Grand-Mother. She taught me how to Peel Carrots & Potatoes, Prep Veggies & Prepare fine Soup Stocks.
She loved children ❤
- My youngest Sister used to steel her Clogs to wear while outside playing. Betty would say, "Where are my Clogs? ... Never mind I know where they are!" She'd borrow them from Laura then return them later.
- Many childhood summer nights were spent with her in the Gazebo by Candlelight, listening to Julio Iglasious, Nat King Cole & Willy Nelson... A Great Councillor & Fan of good music.
- I recollect also, at my Uncle's passing... she approached me warmly, placed her hand on my shoulder & said... "Don't worry Dave; he's got a New friend now!"
She'll be warmly Missed & dearly remembered xo
