Obituary of Mary "Ann" Martell

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary “Ann” Martell, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, who passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024, at the age of 77. Ann was born on October 20, 1947, and lived a life filled with love, family, and devotion to those she cherished. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward, her son Eugene, her mother Mary Elizabeth and her brother Pat. Ann is survived by her two daughters, Sandra (Darrell Stang) and Charlene (James Isnor), as well as her sons Edwin (Josee Cote) and Edmond (Shelley Coull). Ann is also survived by her brothers, Gordon and Bill, and her sister, Jean as well as her 10 grandchildren, Brennan, Bailey, Brandon, Mackenzie, Madison, Mason, Kate, James, Xavier, and Keir, and her great-granddaughter, Maya. Ann’s family will remember her for her unwavering love, her nurturing spirit, and her deep commitment to the people she held dear. She leaves behind a legacy of love and memories that will continue to guide and inspire all who were fortunate to know her. A celebration of Ann’s life will be held this summer (details to be determined). The family requests that any donations in her memory be made to the Canadian ALS society in memory of her son Eugene (https://als.ca/take-action/ways-to-give/) or to the Canadian Cancer Society (https://cancer.ca/en/). She will be forever missed and never forgotten. The family would like to thank the Northwood Halifax campus health care team for their attentiveness, kindness, compassion and caring during her stay.
