Willie Joe (Will) Aucoin, 77, of Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024, in the Glace Bay General Hospital, surrounded by love in the presence of his daughter.
Cremation has taken place, under the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, Glace Bay, and a heartfelt Celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, on January 5, 2025, at 2 p.m., in The Sergeants Mess, Lower Main St., Glace Bay.
Born on October 3, 1947, in Cheticamp, Nova Scotia, to George and Margaret Aucoin, Will lived a life full of creativity and kindness. He retired from The University of Waterloo as a maintenance worker and was previously employed at Epton. Will's craftsmanship was evident in his passion for woodworking, a skill he lovingly honed while building houses with his late father.
Music was the soundtrack of Will's life. He cherished playing his guitar and singing, often sharing his joy with anyone willing to listen, whether they were old friends or new acquaintances. Will's dream, if he ever came into money, was to one day open a recording studio where he could help aspiring artists share their voices with the world.
Will is survived by his daughters, Terra Eykens (John) and Carmen Frost, both of Kitchener, Ontario; his dear friend Marian Smith of Glace Bay, NS; and his grandchildren Mason, Courtney, and Spencer. He is also survived by his sister Julie Mae, brother Francis, and numerous nieces and nephews. He joins his beloved parents, George Eli and Margaret Aucoin, his brother John Angus Aucoin, and best friend Jimmy McPhee in eternal peace.
Will's life was enriched by a circle of friends who were like family to him. To his friends, he was a confidant, a storyteller, and a source of endless support and laughter. The friendships he nurtured over the years were a testament to his generous spirit and genuine kindness.
To those who knew him, Will was a beacon of warmth and generosity. His laughter, music, and the love he shared will forever resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Rest well Dad, we love you!
