Obituary of Janet Gail Burrows

It is with many tears that we announce the unexpected passing of wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother Janet Burrows on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at the VG Hospital in Halifax. She died at the age of 71 surrounded by family. Born in Halifax, NS, she was the daughter of the late Vera and Mossie Manuel. Janet is survived by her husband Barry; daughters Cara, Jennifer (Patrick) and Sheri (Phil); grandchildren Adrianna, Kim, Emily and Liam; great grandchildren Lazarus, Christian, Addison and Gary. She is also survived by her sister Doris, two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, three nieces, a nephew and several cousins. The family is grateful for the care provided by Dr. Harry Henteleff and all the doctors and nurses on the 6th floor IMCU and the 3rd floor ICU at the VG. Cremation has taken place. A funeral service and reception will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 216 School Street, Dartmouth on Tuesday, April 2nd at 2:00 pm with Rev. Dr. Sandy McDonald officiating. A private interment will follow at a later date. Janet loved her warm weather cruises and various trips, especially when they were well planned in advance. She will be forever missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
