Please share a memory of Tanya to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
JANC, Tanya Anne (Skurdaskas), 72, of Mount Uniacke passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Dec 4, 2022 at the QEll Infirmary Hospital. Born in Halifax, NS, she was the daughter of Dora Gallant and Thaddaus Skurdaskas. Tanya loved her family and friends. She spent her entire life taking care of others. She grew up taking care of her siblings at home. Then she met the love of her life and raised a family of her own to love and nurture. She took in her youngest sister Cheri, when she had a young family of her own and raised her as well. Not to mention she cared for her own mother and her husband's mother. She compassionately took care of her husband until his death in 1988. She worked at IMP, both at Hammonds Plains and the Airport for many years. She then went back to school and spent the next 17 years working at Northwood as a homecare worker. Her greatest love came when she had her only grandchild, Kaleb. The moon and sun revolved around the special bond they share. She is survived by daughter, Kristina Maria Janc (James MacDonald); son, Jason Thaddeus Bruno Janc (Cathy MacCormick); and grandson, Kaleb Bruno Tokic (Charlsie Bates); siblings, Johnny Skurdauskas (Lynn), Harriet Meehan, Donna Kean (Zane Fraser), David Meehan (Carole), Donald Meehan (Gloria), Pat Meehan and Cheri Meehan; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Bruno Wilfred Janc; mother, Dora (Gallant) Meehan; Father, Thaddeus (Ted) Skurdauskas; stepfather, David Meehan; and sister, Barbara Hunt. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at the Uniacke Fire Hall, Mount Uniacke on Dec 10, 2022, from 1pm-5pm.
