Obituary of Blair William Anderson

Blair William (Andy) Anderson It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Blair William (Andy) Anderson at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on October 21, 2022. Born in Sydney, Blair was the son of the late Emanuel and Georgina (King) Anderson. In Blair’s younger years, he was a meat cutter in the Sydney area. He then moved to Montreal and became a truck driver for many years until his health forced him into early retirement. Upon retiring, he moved back to the Sydney area where he enjoyed visits with his children, grandchildren and family. Blair is survived by his son, Blair Anderson; daughters Sherry (Derek), Michelle (Sheldon), Tammy, Kim and Georgina (Bruce); brothers Grant (Yvonne), Brian (Jenny), Harold (Isabelle), Francis (Olive) and Bruce; sisters Thelma, Hellen and Joan as well as his 15 grandchildren; Cody, Dillon, Jocelyn, Kyla, Amanda, Kaylee, Joey, Christopher, Samantha, Karlee, Bethany, Jenah, Nicholas, Desire and Blake and 30 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his brother-in-law and good friend, Peter Fanning. As well as his parents, Blair was predeceased by one great-granddaughter in infancy, brothers Gerald and George, sisters Sheila, Dorothy, Doreen and Joyce. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 2:00 pm and T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Drive, Sydney, NS with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the An Cala Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital and those who reached out to Blair during his illness.
