Obituary of Dorothy Lomond

Bedford NS (formerly of Corner Brook NL). Dorothy passed on her birthday, July 6, 2021, in the arms of her loving husband, Tom, and surrounded by her family at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Halifax to join the many loved ones gone before her. Sadly missed but tenderly remembered, Dorothy leaves behind her husband of over 63 years Tom (Melvin Thomas Lomond), as well as her daughters and their families - Arlene (John Butt) of Bedford NS, Heather (Ronnie Roman) of Longwood FL, Lisa (partner Jeff Hiltz) of New Ross NS; granddaughters Shelby (Dave Melfi) of Winter Park FL, Rebecca Olson (partner Greg Cullen) of Austin TX, Nicole and Victoria Roman of Longwood FL.; and great granddaughter Gianna Melfi, who Dorothy so much wanted to hold and hug since her birth in 2019, but was only able to meet virtually due to COVID-19. Dorothy was an intelligent, generous, and gifted woman who was devoted to her family. She and Tom loved to travel, especially to the US to visit family and to shop. Family flowers only. Remember Dorothy through an act of kindness, or a memorial donation to the SPCA Dartmouth NS to honour her love of animals. “May the winds of love blow softly and whisper for you to hear, that we will always love and miss you and wish that you were here.” (Unknown)
