TO MY DEAR BROTHER, GEORGE
"You are in God's tender care,
Your worries faded in air,
But your memory's here
In God's healing tear,
That I shed from my heart today."
(Patricia M. Mills)
A week has passed by since you slipped away
Without a word, it was your 'calling' day.
No travel while pandemics hover
No final good-byes for my Special Brother.
Long distances and choices made
By resolute siblings, independence praised.
These set us apart, but love remained
A constant link in an unbroken chain
Of an original family, forever connected,
As each one's own family, was being perfected.
You left behind an achievement, bar none
A loving family; Wife, Daughter and Son.
In this life, we do the best we can
With the gifts given us, we make a plan
To raise our children to be good caretakers
Hoping as well for earthly peacemakers.
George, your Life's Chronicle is set in stone
As those who knew you create your Tombstone.
For me, the sister who attended your abode,
I pray we meet again on the 'Heavenly' road.
[Patricia M. Mills d'Easum, Aug. 2020]
I miss you already, dear Brother of mine. RIP
