Obituary of Marguerite MacNeil

Marguerite MacNeil, 95, of Sydney, NS, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025 in Palliative Care, CBRH. Marguerite was born on June 22, 1929, in Sydney to the late Armand and Caroline Leblanc. She graduated from Teacher’s College and taught for many years. Marguerite’s passions were sewing, playing cards, and walking trails. Church was a large part of her life for many years, including the CWL and RCIA. Marguerite is survived by her children; Michael (Suzie), Carolyn (Bill), Shaun, and Brian (Judy); sisters, Celeste and Sr. Therese LeBlanc; grandchildren, Kevin, Kristy, Kate, Sam, Robyn, Jeffrey, Jenny, James and Jacob; and her great grandchildren, Declan and Whit. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert (Bob); daughter, Sharon Elaine; and siblings, Armand, Claude, Paul, Roland, and Elaine. The Family wishes to extend their gratitude to all those who cared for Marguerite, including Dr. Paul Morrison and Dr. Jonathon Hebb and their teams, Nikki at NS Community Care and the Palliative Care team at CBRH. Memorial donations can be made to Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton. Visitation will take place on Saturday, January 25, at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Drive, Sydney, NS, 902-539-7175, at 2 pm followed by a Celebration of Life at 3 pm in the Chapel, Rev.
