Obituary of Derrick Sheldon Wright

Derrick Sheldon Wright - 60, passed away peacefully November 17, 2024 at the Cedarstone Enhanced Care Home surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Beechville Nova Scotia. He was the son of The Late Clarence Wright and Viola Wright Derrick was a man of many talents, always expressing his love for sports, science, carpentry, music and dance. He would light up telling stories of his days as a B-boy with the Beechville Breakers or rapping and dancing with his brother Todd. They were known as the Dynamic Duo, the mice never stood a chance. He even had a gig working with his late brother Barry Djing at the Derby, Dj Wright Times were in full effect. He loved all of his siblings dearly, excited to have a chance to work with even just one of them. All they had to do was call and he was there at the drop of a hat. He was known for his sense of humour and the ability to laugh at his own jokes for hours. Derrick’s gift for storytelling was second to none. Although sometimes the truth may have stretched a bit, you were still at the edge of your seat listening. He enjoyed his times with his children, it was always a party when all 6 of them were in the house. He would be hosting dance battles and playing video games with them the whole weekend. There was no such thing as bedtime. Derrick was also an exceptional carpenter, he could look at an empty space and start building exactly what he pictured. His knack for theorising the ways of the world was beautiful at times, even better when he would let you get a word in. Survived by his two sons, Sheldon Morris and Nathan Morris, four daughters: Derricca Colley, Dermicca Colley, Shkeysha Morris, Nikita Morris. Two Beautifiul Granddaughters Nalayah and Aniyah. Brothers, Craig(Jackie), Lionel (Angela) and Todd(Sandra). Sisters, Carolann and Shawna. Several Nieces and Nephews who he held a special relationship with. He is predeceased by his parents; Clarence and Viola, Brother, Barry; Sisters; Sandra and Darcel. Fly High DeeSkee! A Visitation will be held Monday 2 December 2024 between 6pm and 8pm in T.J Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialist, 71 McQuade lake Crescent, Beechville, NS and a Funeral Service on Tuesday 3 December 2024 at 11:00am in Beechville Baptist Church, Beechville, NS with an interment to follow in the Cemetery.
