Obituary of Paul Joseph Lacroix

Paul passed away peacefully at home on November 17th, 2024, surrounded by his loving wife, Ruby, beautiful daughter, Michelle and sister-in-law, Sharon.
Paul was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec on August 14th, 1950, moving to Halifax in 1969 aboard the HMCS Ottawa. Although his naval career was short, he decided that Halifax would be his forever home.
Paul was an active member of the Freemasons belonging to Keiths Lodge and for many years was the caretaker for the Grand Lodge. He was also a member of the Shriners in Halifax where he could be found bartending on occasion.
Paul loved his friends like family and was always there to help those in need.
He was passionate about hockey and golf and was a season ticket holder for the Halifax Mooseheads. Having travelled to the Memorial Cup Playoffs in Saskatchewan with his grandson, Aidan the year they won the cup.
He was an avid traveller with Florida topping the list, golf trips with friends and St. Pete’s annually with his wife, Ruby, and close friends.
Paul is survived by his wife of 26 years, Ruby, his daughter, Michelle (Tim), his stepson Adam (Jessica), grandson Aidan. Estranged son, Peter and estranged grandsons Paul and Mitchell. He is also survived by siblings Leo (Rachelle), Jean Paul, Normand (Patsy), Raymond (France), Marie-Anne (Michel) and Cecile (Andre). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Noel and Lillian and stepmother, Marianna, sister Christine, brother-in-law, Alain and sister-in-law, Louise.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ross Mason, Dr. Laniyi Ogunsanya, and the palliative care team entrusted to care for him during his end stage of life. They would also like to thank the many friends, family members and neighbours of Sherbrooke drive who provided meals, visits, support, and shared memories.

Funeral service will be held at TJ Tracey Funeral Home in 71 McQuade Lake Crescent, Beechville, NS Monday 25 November 2024. There will be a small Masonic service at 12:30 pm followed by his celebration of life at 1pm and a reception to follow.
