Obituary of James Alfred Murphy

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of our beloved brother James Alfred (Jim) Murphy, 66, on Oct 22, 2024. Jim was born in Halifax to the late Bill and Gwen Murphy.
Born and raised in Halifax, Jim was an avid pool and dart player and a member of the Metro Pool and Dart League. He was also a member of the Resolute Club for over 40 years. Jim was a carpenter and painter by trade and was always ready to lend his skills to his family and friends when they needed a helping hand.
Jim is survived by his brothers Steve, Mike (Lona), Billy, Robert (Anne) all of Dartmouth, Richard (Laura), Lower Sackville, Paul (Sherry), Halifax; sisters, Christine (Bill) Stone, Stillwater Lake, Pauline Martin, Paris Ontario, Kathy Roberts, Beaver Bank as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by sister Patricia Boudreau and spouse Gary as well as brother in law Derrick Roberts and sister in law Nancy Murphy.
Cremation has taken place and a Ceremony of Life will take place on Friday Nov. 15, 2024 from 1pm-3pm at the Sackville legion, Sackville Cross Roads. Jimmy was always willing to help everyone so in Lieu of flowers donations can be made to help 4 year old Bruin Pothier receive Trexo Robotic legs by either going to his go fund me page or the auction for Bruin at the Resoulte Club at 5461 Inglis St on Sat Nov 23 from 12pm to 6pm.
