My condolences to Jeff and the rest of the Family. Wayne Pickrem was one of my school bus drivers when I attended George P. Vanier, 95-97 and CPA from 98-2000. I remember Wayne's Old Chev Bus with the big Chevy Bow Tie on the grill. It was a Standard and he never missed a shift in all the years he drove me. He was the only school bus driver I ever drove with that could turn right in the original CPA in Bedford with a vehicle getting ready to leave the entrance without driving over the curb. You never had to worry about getting to school regardless of the weather with Wayne. Driving us kids and others to school's and returning them safely for over 38 years! Great job Wayne ! Just saw this news today Aug 31. Wayne was the greatest bus driver in any of the schools i taught. Eaglewood or Bedford Senior Elementary was where I met him. I helped with d8dmissal of the students and coukd ALWAYS count on Wayne for a smile and a chuckle. May he be at peace. I feel honoured to have known him. Janet Lugar Miller. Retired Teacher

Q: How would you describe Wayne to someone who had never met them? A: Wayne was a kind and thoughtful man. Always positive and laughing. Many a frigid winter morning while I was s uggled beneath my blankets, I would here my very cold bus starting in the driveway. That was Wayne. Not just mine but many throughout Fall River, Waverly and Windsor Jct would be warm when we walked on board. That was not his job, that was just who he was.
