Obituary of Mary Edith Warnell

Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with deep sorrow and endless love that we announce the passing of Mary Edith Warnell (née Higgins), who left us peacefully on July 8, 2026, at the age of 83. Mary was small in size and large in life. Some may say she was stubborn, others may say a strong passion towards the New York Yankees, Halifax Mooseheads and the Montreal Canadiens. Beyond her unwavering support for her teams, Mary found joy at the rink as a season ticket holder for the Halifax Mooseheads and in the peaceful summers spent at the trailer with her cherished Campground family. This passion was even stronger for her family, and she always had time for her family. Mary is survived by her loving children: her daughter Michele (Yvon), and her sons Robert and Sean (Tina). Her vibrant legacy lives on through her four cherished grandchildren, Stephanie (Brock), Kristin (Andre), Mathieu, and Andie, as well as her three adored great-grandchildren, Alexis, Noah, and Payton. She will also be deeply missed by her four devoted sisters—Donna Langille (Buster), Sharon Simpson (Mike), Joan Cashin (Gary), and Anne Higgins. She was predeceased by her mother Dorothy Lintaman, father Edward Higgins, stepfather James Lintaman and brothers, John Higgins and Gerry Lintaman. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the friends and family who have shared their stories, love, and support during this time. A special thank you to all the nurses on 4West of the Dartmouth General Hospital, especially to Cassie and Tina for the impeccable care they provided to Mary until the very end. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Andrews Catholic Church, 1570 Shore Rd on Friday July 17, 2026 at 3pm. Following the service, the family warmly invites all guests to join them for a reception at the Buffalo Club, 625 Cow Bay Rd, where they hope everyone will bring forward and share their favorite stories of Mary and how she touched their lives. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Mary's memory to the Eastern Passage Food Bank.
