Obituary of Charles Eric MacDonald
Please share a memory of Charles to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Charles Eric MacDonald, 63, of North Sydney, passed away August 26th at Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Baddeck, he was the loving son of Shirley (Carmichael) MacDonald (Bob Andrea) and Charlie (Chalmur) MacDonald (Paula Peinsznski).
Charles was a quiet, humble man with a brilliant mind. A gifted cook, master of crosswords, and someone who could fix just about anything. His deep knowledge of sports - especially his unwavering loyalty to the New England Patriots - was unmatched, and he never missed a game. Above all, he was a devoted and loving father, whose steady presence will be deeply missed.
Charles will be greatly missed by his daughter, Isabella MacDonald, whom he shared an unbreakable bond and endless pride. His brothers, Scott (Sharon), Jami (Brenda), and sister, Ena (Bern Frasson); nieces and nephews; Kevin, Jillian, Scottie, Dylan, Sophie and Olivia; and a large circle of extended family and dear friends. He is also remembered with kindness by Virginia Boutilier, the mother of his beloved Isabella.
In his final days, Charles was cared for with great compassion by Laurie Pottie, his former partner, whose love and friendship was of profound comfort to him.
Charles is now reunited with the love of his life, Trina, whose passing many years ago left an ache he carried always.
