Obituary of Alexander John Campbell

It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Alexander “Sandy” Campbell on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. Alex “Sandy was formerly from New Waterford, Cape Breton and more recently Spryfield, Halifax.
Alex “Sandy” grew up in the town of New Waterford and attended Breton Education Centre. From there he joined the Militia for several years and was very proud of being part of the Search and Rescue Team. He then went to NSCC and received his diploma in Civil Technology. He quite enjoyed construction work and over the years worked for several different companies including Precision Concrete.
Alex “Sandy” was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan and enjoyed many other sports. He was a member of the Liar’s Club at the Red Fox and enjoyed hanging out with the guys. He also had a love for Coronation Street and he enjoyed cooking.
It was on December 1st, 2000, that Alex “Sandy” met the love of his life and forever partner Anne Marie Archibald at the Red Fox Tavern. Together they have lived together in the Halifax area since 2008. They enjoyed dancing, camping and spending time listening to their favorite music together.
Alex “Sandy” is survived by his partner, Anne Marie Archibald; brothers, Brian, New Glasgow, and Graham (Lisa), New Waterford; nephews, Terry and Mitchell Campbell, New Glasgow; niece, Presley, Edmonton. He is also survived by his son, Michael Campbell.
He was predeceased by his parents, Allister (Gush) and Elizabeth (Betty) Campbell; and his sister-in-law, Joanne Campbell; as well as several aunts and uncles.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a Celebration of Life for Alex “Sandy” on Saturday, June 7th at 1:00 pm at the Golden Age Social Club at 212 Herring Cove Road in Spryfield, NS.
