
Obituary of Steven Roy Collinge

Steven Roy Collinge, 61, of Halifax, Nova Scotia has passed away on February 5,2025 at his home in Upper Nine Mile River, NS. Born in Nanaimo, British Colombia he was the son of Donald Roy Collinge and Joan Collinge.
At the young age of 16, Steve joined the Royal Navy in British Colombia which eventually brought him to be stationed in Nova Scotia where he remained until his passing. Once out of the navy he worked with the Commissionaires working at a variety of places such as Dartmouth Slips, Halifax Shipyard, MacDonald and MacKay Bridges. He then started to work through the construction trade starting at traffic control with Safety First and then moving to ACL which eventually was acquired by Dexters where he proudly worked in the Pipe division until his passing.
When he wasn’t at work, he would spend his time cheering on his favourite hockey team the Vancouver Canucks or watching Stock car racing with his family at one of the tracks throughout the Maritimes.
Steve is survived by his former wife, Mary Foster, and their children, Steven Donald Collinge and Angela Mary Collinge, his brother David (Linda) Milligan, and his sisters Gwen Tickell and Lisa Collinge. He is also survived by several nephews, nieces, great nieces and great nephews.
Steve is predeceased by his father, Donald Roy Collinge, and his mother, Joan Collinge.
Visitation/ Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 15th, 2025 from 2pm-4pm. It will take place at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists at 71 McQuade Lake Crescent, Beechville, NS B3S 1C4. Cremation to follow.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada in memory of Steve Collinge.
