Obituary of Cornelius Rupert McIsaac
We are saddened to announce the death of Cornelius Rupert McIsaac, 80, of Howie Centre, on Friday, January 31, 2025, at The Cove Guest Home. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Cornelius and Agnes McIsaac.
Cornelius was a quiet man. He owned several businesses over the years. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing (fly fishing), tying his own flies, and spending time with his family, especially time with his two granddaughters whom he loved dearly and was very proud of. He spoke fondly of them to whoever would listen.
He is survived by his wife, Genevieve E. (Coffin) McIsaac of 61 years; son, Blair (Brenda); daughters, Deborah (Mike), and Corinne McIsaac Parker; brother, Dan Joe McIsaac; sisters, Madeline Dillon, Josephine (Wayne) Nearing, Jeanette (Adrian Howie) McIsaac; and grandchildren, Ainsley (Brandon) and Meghan (Scott).
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Joey McIsaac, and Francis McIsaac; and sister, Louise McCormick.
Although his stay at The Cove Guest Home was short, because of the exceptional care in his final hours, donations in his memory can be directed to them.
A special thank you to the Glace Bay General, 4 North nurses and staff for the exceptional care during his stay.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Drive, Sydney, NS, 902-539-7175. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 5, at the funeral home, 1 – 2 pm, with funeral service following at 2 pm in the Chapel, Fr. Norman MacPhee officiating.
