Erville Malcolm McPherson, 89
Dominion, N.S.
It is with profound sadness that we, the family announce, the passing of our brother Erville McPherson on January 22, 2025, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Erville was the cherished son of the late Malcolm ‘Max’ and Elsie (Buckley) McPherson.
As a young man, Erville began in career working along side his dad and brothers in the coal mines. After several years, he relocated to Halifax where he worked as manager for the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission for 28 years.
Throughout his life, Erville made many friends both near and far. He was a devoted sports enthusiast who enjoyed hockey and baseball and had a deep love for curling, a sport he played for many years. Erville had a passion for travel, particularly Ireland where he visited several times and even kissed the Blarney Stone. Above all, Erville loved his family.
Erville is survived by brothers Max (Rosemary), Grand Cache, AB, Kevin (Lima), and Everett (Betty); sisters Elsie Ellsworth, Sharon McMordie, and Linda (Fraser) Simm, all of Glace Bay; as well as several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Erville was predeceased by his sisters Murdena (Buddy) Clements, and Rita (Dan) Bedecki; brothers-in-law, Everett Ellsworth and Marvin McMordie.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks the doctors and nurses who care for Erville; as well as the sitters who watched over him with great compassion.
Cremation has taken place under the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. 902-849-4199.
